Diverse Learning Environments

Infants

Our infant room accommodate infants from 6 weeks to 1 year of age.  We stay within a ratio of 1 teacher to every 5 children but we strive to always have no less than 3 teachers for every 10 children.  Our infant room is a separate space from the main childcare area.  All of the necessary essentials for proper toileting, diapering, feeding, bonding, resting and playing are located in this room.  The infant room is designed in a way that allows infants to learn and explore, with a balance of areas for active play and areas for quiet play.  The room is often changed around, and new toys and materials are added to promote curiosity and continued growth and development.

Toddlers

In our toddler classroom we continue to build upon the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language areas of development.  Here we promote close, caring relationships with the primary caregivers.  The toddler to teacher ration is 6:1.  We offer predictable routines and a cozy environment that foster a home/school connection.  Toddlers engage in hands-on exploration and play in a safe, opportunity filled environment that help promote their independence.

Preschool

Our preschool classroom is friendly, inviting, and conducive to learning with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio and a teacher's aide. Our room is designed around focus centers that offer a variety of activities for children to learn and explore.  This area consists of blocks and puzzles, dramatic play, Reading Nooks, Art, Music, Manipulatives, Rest mats & Floor Cushions, and outdoor play items.  Preschool is where we begin to introduce an age appropriate STEAM based curriculum in order to prepare our children for our Pre-K program.

Pre-K

Our Pre-K classroom provides opportunities for our children to learn in ways that interest them.  Our STEAM based curriculum promotes curiosity, creativity, and exploration.  Children are encouraged to make decisions, ask questions, think and solve through purposeful play.  Our environment inspires learning, supports social and emotional skills, creates community, and prepares our children for kindergarten and beyond.  This classrooms offer a 14:1 student- teacher ratio along with a teacher's assistant to aid in more individualized instructional support. Our teachers make learning fun by integrating a variety of games, activities, music, physical movement, arts, technology, and dramatic play.
